I picked this up at an estate sale. It's got some saginite, agate, maybe jasper, but overall it's pretty darn soft. It also has a lot more green that what shows. I'm in the process of freezing my... I mean making a cab out of it. Looks gorgeous so far. Curt

Yep, I'd say it's sagenite from northern Mexico. Sometimes it grades into a kind of plumy stuff. You sure found you a nice colorful piece!......Mel

It sure is purty. BTW, it sure sounds odd to hear you Texans talk about freezing body parts. So much for global warming, eh! Oddly enough, we here in the Pacific Northwest are warmer than normal, and one hell of a lot wetter. At least it is still liquid, and that, I can live with.
So, what else did you find at that estate sale? Woody

Actually Woody, it's a living estate. Old guy is selling all his stuff. He refuses to go below $1 a pound so I've been cherry picking his stuff fo a couple of months. He's got maybe 3 thousand pounds, mostly japers, some agates. Most of it is normal stuff but I do find some nice pieces like the one above. Found some Mook and other goodies as well.
