Howdy folks, Well I emptied the UV-10 after 10 days in polish. I'm still amazed at the quantity of material this thing does in one shot. Ten days made for a really nice shine too. Huge lot and I couldn't even scrape together enough to really fill it up. Shaun at the Rockshed ( awesome dealer!) was kind enough to scrounge up another bowl for me so , since I'm still far from having enough prepolished rock for another UV-10 polish load, I think I'll use the other bowl for a load of fine grind and sand some cabs with the load while I'm at it. Anyway, another mixture with a bunch of Moctazuma slices and halves thrown in. Thanks for looking....Mel

Nice looking variety and shine. How many lbs. will the UV-10 do in a bowl? Arne

Arne: This load was a bit over 8 pounds and it was not as full as you can fill it so I'd say it would easily handle the ten pounds the manufacturer says it will handle.....Mel

Naturenut: The Moctazumas are those little oval pastel and white banded agate slices and halves. Of all the Chihuahua Agate types, Moctazumas tend to be on the small side and have a whitish sort of lumpy skin. Lots are duds but they are of a size sliced easily with the ole Workforce and the kids love them so i always try to run a few when I have them....Mel

That is a great batch Mel! I have never been able to keep my load going that long in polish. I have always been afraid that they would beat each other up too much while being in the polish load but yours looks fantastic! Fran

Fran: There was a little obsidian in the load that did get beat up and came out as throwaway junk. The only other thing that did not polish was some Antelope Jasper I threw in and that one seems to almost always be a spoiler. Pretty stuff but hard to get past a satin finish in the tumbler with other stuff. With the jasper and agate it always seems longer I leave it in polish, the deeper and better the shine..Mel

Very nice batch. We are taking pictures of a batch that just finished. It is hard to keep enough stuff around to keep it busy. It does a great job and uses less grit and polish for the amount of stone it works. Debby and Tom
