Hi Bendsum, Have a look at this RTH rock polishing Guide , www.rocktumblinghobby.com/cycle/cycle.htmlThis will give you a Idea of how to get started, what Grit to use and water ect Be Clinicaly clean between cycles and wash thorouly/Burnish Im sure others will add their comments and "quirks" for a even better finish !! I'd run the two rocks separately. Turritella agate isn't always agate. I have a barrel of titanium dioxide I found in my dad's stuff and tried it on some Montana agate. It worked well. I'm not sure it wasn't contaminated so have not tried it on anything else. I couldn't find much info on line so guess it isn't widely used anymore. If the white pellets are plastic designate them for any step you use them for as the grit embeds in the plastic. If they are angle cut non-abrasive cylinders you can use them all the way through, washing with the rocks between steps. You might want to reserve the single barrel for strictly pre polish and polish. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

they have been runnin about a week now and not much change in either barrel. the other barrel has some obsidian in polish and they are lookin good got a dull/matte shine to them will leave them to run another week. they are in old polish from the batch of tears with lots of pellets and a lil new polish my new question is can the polish slury be to thick and slow down the process?

if i remember right lortone usta make the titainiun dioxide i have like three tubs of it out there but they switched to titainiun oxide i think the new stuff is called,, i had good luck with the old stuff so when i seen it at the end i grabbed a few 5 lb tubs when they changed over
with the smaller barrels you gotta fight the urge to over fill with rock if you put to much in it wont make a slurry and they wont move enough to shape them
my first batch of tears got all dinged up in polish they need the cushion as long as the polish aint dry lookin id leave it thick so they dont bang each other up,, some people add stuff to thickin the polish slurry to help
