ekkk...... I am very afraid of all birds. If I had all these birds in trees close to where I lived I would never go outside and be packing my bags to move. LOL

So, is it fair to say Road Kill is no longer an issue in Galena?
We have a similar issue with murders of crows that establish a roost. Ah, so melodic at 5:00 AM.

I thought Vultures went farther South in the winter ! They leave northeast Iowa about the same time as the leaves are done falling and the frost hits. I like to watch them riding the thermals over the bluffs along the Miss. river in the summer, they make flying look EASY !

These stay here all year round. No, all the road kills are gone soon after they get killed. And we depended on them for supper, especially the opossum. These birds are skittish, you can't get close to them before they fly off.

We have a few dead trees down the road that a bunch of buzzards sit in. I haven't seen them lately since the snow. They must have taken off. Really cool pictures Ken! I would never want to walk under that tree! Fran

Whoa, that's a lot of buzzards! I can't really see the heads. Are they Turkey Buzzards? There's usually a bunch of them at Innsbrook (Missouri) that I watch when the fish aren't biting.
