We have several beaches with agates. On the north end of the island you can find agates along the entire coast. There is even an Agate Beach. Most agates found around this are are large for beach agates, can be almost as big as your fist. On the east coast we have sand dunes and in these dunes are lots of large red agates. Then on the westcoast we have agates on some of these beaches that look more like opal than quartz, but tend to be smaller. Some people venture out to rock quarries on the logging roads to find geoids (sp).

This is sounding very interesting. By chance do you have any images that you can share? It would be great to see what kind of collecting you have where you live - especially if you are talking about tiling a bathroom...
