I was in harbor freight today so hubby could look for diamond bits for the dremel. I had to look at the tumblers dispite all the advice against it. I decided since it is my birthday and my hubby always likes to take things apart to make them better I would buy a 3 lb with my birthday money. Upon the employee checking he found they are now discontinued and all they had was the floor model. He said I could have it for $20.00. Even if it only lasts a year with all the belt changing it seems worth the small price. Maybe if anyone else would consider running one they may check their local harbor freight for a great price. Dog gone, I should have checked to see if they disconued the double barrell too. Thought I would share. Hopefully I won't be sorry in the long run. Vicci

For $20, I don't think that you'll be sorry. Use it until the barrel falls off, then move into a bigger and better one, that's how we all do it!

That's what I'm doing. Got mine similar way, was $28 for mine and I figured, new, it might last me a half year and that's not bad for $28.

I don't think too many people will lament the demise of Chicago Electric. But sounds like you got a great deal.

Went by Harbor Freight today, in Tulsa, Ok. They didn't know any thing about the CE tumbler being discontinued. had plenty of blue ones. Could be the red tumblers that went. I have a blue CE and it has a different motor than the red one. They are still $49.95 Have a blessed evening. Blessed

I went to the store here and they still had them. The tumblers here are black.I dont know about a different motor,I had returned my old broke down one and got the new one,and its still in the box. I would recommend anyone considering buying a ce to get the one year warranty on it,was $5.95. Then when they run them on sale later, get another one,but not the warranty on it, then when one breaks you can get another new one,and so on. But this would hinge on whether or not they are being discontinued or not. I bought my duals on sale for $34.95 at different times.

They are a real dark blue. I thought mine was black at first. They were not on sale today, regular price. The first thing I do is replace the belt with a lortone. Been going since october. I do have a lortone motor and drive pulley standing by, just in case.

Dang sure is a very dark blue. Does anyone know if the lortone rod bushings fit these? The last time they wore out I took it back and got another one. But they aint gettin'the one I put the lortone motor on,and the bushings will wear out sooner or later.

I got the red one. It's the 3lb. The ones this size both the red and the blue are only $32.99 regular price here. I didn't check about the blue one but the red one is the one I was told was discontinued and they would't be getting them back in stock again. The belt did break on the 3rd day. I went tonight and got a replacement so am getting it restarted. Still, I love having a bit more space than the 1lb one I got for Christmas. Thanks everyone, Happy tumblin. Vicci

Vicci, Watch for sales at Harbor Freight, somt times they have the double 3 lb on sale for 39.95. All three of mine were on sale. When you order from The Rock shed also get replacement belts for Lortone 33B. They fit CE tumblers and don't break every few days. Shawn has 33B for about $100.
