Any suggestions on where to look for rough tanzanite for me to tumble. I would love to do one for my daughter and try my hand at wire wrapping it. It's her favorite stone. A few years back she got involved with the wrong guy and he stole and pawned her tanzanite rings. She hasn't been able to afford to replace them so I would love to do this for her. Thanks for any suggestions. Vicci

Yah, if she had rings stolen, then no doubt that was nice-quality tanzanite, faceted and gem quality. If you could find tanzanite to tumble it would be really, really poor-quality, and no replacement for what was stolen. If it was good tanzanite (gem quality) then it should definitely be faceted and not tumbled. Sorry, but tumbling is NOT the way to go on this one. -Don

Thank you all for your help. Guess I will need to choose something else purple to work on for her. I do appreciate your input. Vicci

That's a lot of money ($5.33 per pound) for rock that looks all brown and white - but claiming to be purple...
Kim has some pretty high prices for all she sales. WOW!
