Bobby had to make a board game for a project at school. Well he had visions of erupting volcanos, I was thinking rocks! Julie had sent me some tumbles in the monkey jewels competiton, so we came up with a gem hunt game, all the tumbles were from friends on here!!!! We, he got an A!!!! You had to grab stones from different countries, the special garnets are worth 20 points each, and certain spaces allow you to steal garnets from other players. The first person to finish got a diamond, a quartz crystal, worth 50 points. It was a fun game to play, so I just wanted to share this since many of you contributed! Amber

This is so cool. Congrats Bobby for your A. You and your mom must have had a lot of fun making and playing.
Amber, I bet with a little more work, you could get this game on the market. I'm dead serious. I can see this game on the shelves of museum shops, teacher's specialty stores and Toys R Us.
It not only touches the subject of geology and geography. Man girl, you are just one rockin mom.

LOL, this was a challenge for me, having a marketing degree I felt pressure, LOL. Had to earn brownie points with the teacher so I thought she would like the geography and math skills, it really is a fun game,we had a lot of fun working on it together. It was funny as I expected the kids wanted to keep the stones, so it came back a little light, but I was glad they had fun. Bobby was pleased with it, and I made him do all the work, all the cutting and pasting, LOL

Very cool idea, imaginative as well as educational. Hope you got lots of brownie points. I agree this game could be the next sensation although you have to let us have first crack at playing it...lol.

Amber - a cple years ago I worked a sports show for my job. There was a guy there that took fishing to a whole new level for kids, he turned it in to a board game. Said it was a lot of work and effort, but he was getting like 30.00 for each game, and selling them like crazy. I think Lori is right, you may be on to something here.

What a great project! Amber, Bobby is very lucky to have a mom like you that jumps right in and motivates him with fun activities so it is not such a chore to get his work done! Great going for both of you and congrats Bobby on the A! You deserve it! Fran
