Tried to make a wild rose pendant. I figured out halfway into it the quartz had a rotten spot discoloring two leaves so I didn't sand as much as I should have before polishing. The center is a plug of jade. Still, it was fun to give it a try. Tim

The discolouration is not actually detracting, it is adding interest to the piece. The small jade cabochon is just right. Woody

What kind of quartz is it? It turned out terrific, and I don't think the discoloration is that bad.
How long does something like this take you?

I love your flower. Love everything about it. The color and especially the "discolor" and also the different petal sizes and that it is not symetrical. This is truely beautiful

Thanks all, I really don't know what kind of quartz it is, just some pink stuff that was in my little rock pile. It took probably close to 3 hours to make on and off as I was watching football. How's that for manly, watching football while making a rock flower. It would go much faster if you have something a little better than the Dremel.

LOL - at least it was made of rocks and required tools to make, right?

Really Great job Tim! The game must've been pretty boring as it looks like this took alot of concentration. Steve

Beautiful, you did a great job. I doubt I could do that while watching a football game (maybe I'm too busy yelling at the tv ) ;D The color and "discoloration" is perfect. I agree with others on here that it makes the rose look more realistic.

I love it! Have to agree with everyone else, the discoloration adds an extra UUMPH to it. Good work! And how you did that while watching football is beyond me! I would have probably thrown it at the TV! ;D
