Does anybody know anything about Eastwood (NOT Eastwind) vibe tumblers? I can't Google them and i assume they are out of business. I saw one I'm interested in but i'm a little apprehensive about buying a machine that's a dog to begin with or i can't get parts for.
thanks, Mark H.

well i never seen this brand till now -- if it was me and it will be in acouple months I'm gonna go with a thumlers at the rockshed they have a great track record and rockshed carries parts for them also and the price is about the same i think -- do a search on the board for vibe tumblers and most members go with the tumlers and have good things to say about them
make sure you get the industrial one in what ever size you chose there heavy duty for rocks has a blue band on the bowl

A VERY common mistake when people are buying a vibe is that they try to uy as cheap as possible. Although money is a HUGE factor so is what we spend it on. This vibe unit is made for polishing up metal parts and it's bowl WILL wear out FAST while using grit and having rocks going around in it. Make SURE that which ever unit you buy that the bowl(s) are made spacifically for rocks and NOT for metal polishing. Many people buy the Raytech units and soon find that the bowls wear out fast. Raytech deals in metals and NOT rocks. John Sands has already mentioned the Thumlers vibe units and I would like to mention the Lot-O-Tumbler by Bell Corp. www.therockshed.com/tumbler1.htmlMy thoughts,,, connrock

I used to get stuff from Eastwood all the time, basically they are a metal restoration company. The also sell sand blasters, welders, painting equipment, rust inhibitors.......

MY Heres the price search.eastwood.com/search?asug=vib&w=vibratory+tumbler&p=Q&ts=customAnd as others say its made for restoration of rusty steel parts, if you add rocks the metal parts it will wear out, especialy if you add Sc grit and rocks. :nono: pay a bit more and get the rock polisher that will last Pity as it looks like a good machine Jack yorkshire uk

Thanks, guys. I say a really good looking deal on eBay and I was wondering if it was more for metal finishing. The price on this machine new is about the same as a UV-10 but I'd rather not buy a new one if I can find a used one in good shape. I would love to find a Lot-O but we had a discussion a few months back about a machine being sold in the Buy, Sell, Trade section- a 2 barrel Lot-O in new condition- and I was a little afraid of buying a machine without a warranty when I could pay a little more for a new one with a grit pack, etc. fromthe Rock Shed. One responder mentioned that the warranty on those units was important because a bunch of machines were sold with defective motors. i guess for now I'll just have to slow daown and batch feed my little Raytech.

Mark, for what its worth, The Rock Shed now has their Lot-O listed with the New & Improved Ball Bearing Motor. Should be no problems now, & they still would be under warranty.
