Well it's been bitterly cold here lately, but I bundled up wednesday and braved the cold to get a cab knocked out for Emily's birthday. I was lucky enough to get a hunk of rutilated quartz from RocknCritter just after the holiday season, and have been saving it for Emily. It is a very nice piece of rough I got in trade, and enjoyed working it very much. Thank you Richard! This cab is very thick - more like a tumbled stone, but I wanted to capture some of the great rutile needles inside it. Size is about 1.25" h x .75" w, x .5" d. I will be wrapping this too, so wish me luck on that! LOL! Nate

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Steve - I can't wait to see the look on Emily's face when she opens the box with this in there! Tweetiepy - This stuff is awesome to work, I cut it with a diamond cutting disk in my dremel to keep waste to a minimum, and working it on the diamond disks on my flat lap was a breeze. You'll thoroughly enjoy it. Marie - I'm sure you'll be knocking out spectacular cabs in no time flat! Like, by next week probably!

Thanks Lowell and Adrian. I have half of the piece I got left, so I may end up doing 2 more small cabs for ear rings.
