It took me about 15 hours to do. I don't know how to bend the bezel over the stone. I did on the small stone by cutting notches into the bezel. The heart is a tight fit but I glued it in too. The heart is Rocky Butte and the small stone I really don't know, it was given to me, but the color is like whiskey Quartz that I saw in the Rio catalog. I would say it is quartz or some kind of agate tumbled. I had two small pieces of silver that I butted together and soldered to make one larger piece. I am starting to get the soldiering but need way more practice. I had fun trying to do this and hope to really learn how. Thanks for looking. nwileystudios.com/rocks/rocky butte_silver.jpg[/img]

Great job Nancy. You need a bezel pusher to push the bezel over onto the stone. It is a very smooth, slick, curved piece of stainless steel with a handle on it. There is also a bezel rocker that you can use to push it over with. Ken

You got the artistic eye and the definitely the skills to go with. Fantastic work!
Yup, what Ken said. Start at one spot like 3 o'clock, then 9 o'clock, then 6 o'clock, then 12 o'clock then fill in between alternating opposite sides til you've pushed it all on. There are youtube vids on it.

Very pretty:) Love that design. Did you use rolling mill for texture or hammer? I am just starting my metalsmithing/silversmithing classes and I hope my first one looks this beautiful:)

Thanks everybody ;D I am hooked on this, I can tell already. Moondragon: I used a nail to texture it. Just moved it all over the metal while tapping the nail with a hammer. I'm off to Rio to look at Bezel Pushers/Rockers

You need to have a stamp made with a hand patting a goose on the head and the words "Good Goose". Not an ink stamp (well, that too) but one that you can make an impression using a mallet. Jo

Very cool, Nancy! I can't wait to try it. I took a class a couple weeks ago, and acquired a torch yesterday. Now I just need the rest of the tools and some silver, and I'll be ready to try. Oh, it would be nice to be able to pay for the stuff as well! LOL! ;D

Very nice work, also very artistic. Debby is taking a class on making jewelery. We went to Reo and have silver headed this way. We have lots to get to make a complete work site. My father-in-law sold us his acetylene out fit for $25.00. We need to get a Small Tourch Debby & Tom

Now, that's cool! So original and unusual. Great job!
I had fun trying to do this and hope to really learn how.
Oh, I don't think you are really going to have a problem with that as evidenced in this piece.

Thank you ;D I am finding that I am having all these cool ideas for more . . .but, can I do it My next ones are going to have to be in copper and brass. Found some at a local Hobby Shop that i have passed so many times and never noticed! Yesterday I did, lol. They had lots of brass & copper, much cheaper than silver of course. I like those metals a lot but have a mental block about the cheap part, ho-hum, I better get over it ;D
