Hi all, Now that we're all moved into the new house and settled in, we got our 10" saw going and started slabbing some of the rocks we collected on our first trip with Tony & Chris. Picture Jasper from the Owyhees.......man is this stuff sweet! The scenes in it are unreal!!! See the trees and sun? And a harbor? And a cartoon mountain, sun, trees and blue sky: And here's some Graveyard Point from Tony's claim. I love the flame look. Backlit: Thanks for lookin! Shannon

Those are really nice, Shannon. I am always amazed at the beauty found inside of rocks. Very pretty scenes in the Picture Jasper.

Wow Shan, you weren't kidding! That Owyhee is some fine looking stuff! And the graveyard point - Wow x2! Although I was looking the opposite at it thinking icy looking stalactites!!!
Keep on cuttin'!

That picture jasper looks different than anything I've seen. The colors remind me a of Rocky Butte. Cool flames too, is the material clear enough to make doublets?

Cool slabs Shannon!Slabbing is outright addictive, they should put warning labels on blades and saws.Ordering some rock from Tony is now on my to do list.I cant wait to see the cabs you and Wolf make.

Tony, You can clearly see your skin color through the slabs at a 1/4" thick! Cant wait to make some doublets. And I agree, the Jasper is something special and it has proven itself exceptional compared to some of the other rough we've cut. All nice of course, just not THAT nice. Its all things Owyhee all rolled into one. Mudshark......I think it was you that said you are using baby oil in your saw? After pricing gallons of mineral oil at the feed store, we found that it was cheaper to get multiple 20 oz bottles of baby oil at WallyWorld. Got a bit of an odd look from the cashier when we lugged a bunch of bottles up to the counter LOL. I really had the urge to tell her we were going home to go take the sheets off the bed and have some fun. HAHAHA The baby powder scent is a nice touch when you first open the saw lid. We call em baby butt slabs. Shan
