Idaho and Montana (see other thread) are the next two states I'll be requesting images for.
`After these two states, I will be moving over into North and South Dakota.
We are now requesting images of material from the great state of Idaho for this thread. The images can be of rough, polished specimens, cabs, or tumbled stones. If you have any that you're willing to share, please post with a brief note on the region and its common name (if it has one.) Credit for the photo will be assigned to your name or online title (or not at all if that's your choice.)
Any material that fits under the heading agate/jasper is welcome to be posted here, even if it is from lesser known locations.
A sample of some of the better known agates/locations we're hoping to have provided are: Graveyard Point Willow Creek Bruneau Jasper Big Creek Material Challis region Material and many many more but it doesn't have to be from these places.
There are many places I've not mentioned that would be readily known to people outside the state. We'd love to see sample of these. If in doubt, POST!

Graveyard Point Plume Agate: I thought I crossed a bit into Oregon when I collected this but the site is right on the border and you go in from the Idaho side so lets call it Graveyard Point, Idaho *S*

Mel,
I'm not sure which side of the border it sits on. If it's oregon, I'll just shift the images in that state and make reference that in the Idaho list where some people might look. But this is not the only site with this condition. I see a similar issue with McDermitt's material. That border also runs right through the region.
To all who would be using this index - Any opinion(s) on how you want to deal with sites that straddle multiple states?

Lowell, IN my notebooks, I just handle the state border issue with a text comment. Like with Bull Canyon Agate- Everyone I've ever gotten from says the site is on the California/Nevada border but none know which side so I just put it in Nevada with a note saying is a border site. Agate Lexicon is a good decider too....Mel
PS: Lexicon lists Graveyard Pt. as Idaho

Thanks so much for doing this. There are so many kinds of these stones that I never know which I'm dealing with.
