As luck would have it along with my dop pot demise, my trim saw blade died and now my 14 inch saw blade is being laid to rest. Does that mean since I had 3 things happen my bad luck is over?
I have tried all the tricks of the trade to resurrect the 14 inch blade but to no avail.. Of course it was all bought used so no telling how much the blade was used before I bought it (estate sale).
I am looking at getting the best sinistered rim blade that will last, cutting agates and other hard material. Have looked at Barracca diamond, Mk301, Mk 303 what do you recommend. Basically I am dead in the water right now as far as cutting.
I am frustrated at this point and I need to get a blade ordered. Thank you so much for your time.

The MK 303 is a very good blade and I've used them a lot. They cut fast and smooth and last a long time. I got my last big one from www.eloxite.com. For comparing prices, their current catalog lists the 14" MK 303 at $165.60. I've also used the MK 301 which is a bit more expensive at $237.60 but I actually liked the 303 better. Eloxite ships fast too....Mel

I haven't used a 14", but I do use a 10" MK-303 that I got from John at JSGems. I really like the blade---I've gotten very smooth cuts on some Brazilian agates I did recently.
FWIW: John's price was much lower than Eloxite is showing.

BeLinda: If you want an inexpensive 14" blade, have a look at www.mcgillwarehouse.com They cater to the granite trade, so the blades are not lapidary blades, but these blades are nearly indestructable. They are thicker, so eat more rock...not good for expensive material. Woody
