Some of you may remember when I posted photos of a coffee table that we picked up from an antique store. It was a church bench in its former life. Here is what we have done with it. The plan was to put glass over the top of it but its rather fun playing with the Zen gardens and alternating slabs. There's always plenty of coasters for our glasses LOL. Thanks for lookin, Shannon

Cool idea. If I did something like that, Donna would be looking at each little pebble and saying 'look at this agate' or 'look how cool this one is'. ;D ;D ;D Ken

I can see me now sitting with a cup of coffee and raking. That is one heck of a cool table you created but just how are you keeping your little rockhound from playing in it? (I'm not talking about wolf) lol.

Ken, the key is to fill the majority of the table with pea gravel like we did. Not too interesting so the kids leave it alone. Lori, the biggest issue has been the dog. Dyna steals rocks every chance she gets. We see her chewing, say "Dyna!!! What are you eating!!!!" and then she spits it out. LOL. Last night when I had come home from work, I saw that Dennis made the mistake of putting our slab bin on the floor. Dyna must have had 5 or 6 slabs all over the place. Chuck, thats the plan. Eventually we will have enough tumbled stone to put in the table. Shannon

Shannon, That's a really creative idea and use for your rocks. Hopefully you don't have a cat. I can imagine what you would end up sifting through! Bob

Bobby, LOL.
Hey Shan, can we have a closeup of the lace to the bottom right of the zen garden? It looks awesome and colorful. Pretty please?

Hmmmm Jo,
Are you referring to the yellow lace with all of the amazing inclusions? Or the more orange lace in the bottom right hand corner of the table? If you are talking about the yellow........that one is the most amazing lace I have ever had in my possession. I bought them from Curt (texaswoodie). I could just stare at that one for hours, there's so much going on in it!
