Hi all, I picked up a bunch of cheapo night lights at our local dollar store. They each had a little bracket that snapped onto the light. I removed the little decorative faces off the lights and epoxied slabs to them. Ive got a bunch throughout the house and also gave a couple to a family member for their birthday. This one is neat.......it has some fractures but we thought it had kind of a cool Tim Burton skeleton type look to it LOL. This one almost looks better in the daylight than it does at night Next we plan on doing some midnight lace obsidian lights. Thanks for lookin, Shannon

Shannon: I really like the results, and it is always rewarding when you can do something like this frugally.........or todays word....green! Now, you know exactly what to do with slabs that you can not cab, yet are too pretty to discard. Woody

Those are great Shannon! I do like the second one in the dark as well as in daylight. Thanks for sharing the ideas with us, it's a great way to use slabs. Did you face polish the slabs? Jo

Jo,
We did no polishing of these at all. I suppose you could but once lit, I dont think it matters too much.

Shannon that is a great way to enjoy agates. I can just picture one in every outlet all on, in a dark room, a dream land. Rocks are just so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Donna

I love those nightlights and the fact that you don't need to polish them. Looking forward to seeing the Obsidian.

Cool idea, the obsidian is amazing and the backlight outlines the best of it.

Yup I agree! The obsidian is fantastic! Probably the best way to display it too. I made my daughter Abby a cab from it (my avatar photo), and you can't really see the pattern unless it's backlit.

What a great idea, Shannon. They are pretty nice, & yes, the obsidian is, to borrow from ppork, a ripper. Don

I think out of all of them, the obsidian is a cut above! I just love them! Fran
