We are leaving for Coram Mt. which is up there by Whitefish on the 27th of Feb. I know most places will be covered with snow, but where is some good places to look on the way out there, we will be taking I94 all the way to Glendive and then maybe north hwy 200s and 13 to get up to hwy 2 then over to Coram.

Glendive and Miles City are good for agate hunting along the Yellowstone River but don't know if there is snow covering up the shoreline. I don't know much about places along that route but maybe someone else could give you some ideas. I do know that now is not the usual time for rockhounding (no surprise there...lol).
Don't know about going hwy 13 but I think you mean I15?
When you get to Montana you can use 511 on the phone to find out road conditions.
Happy hunting and safe travels.

Thanks. I did mean hwy 13 from Circle, Mt. up to hwy 2 Macon or Wolf Point, Mt. Sorry, didn't even know there was a hwy 13 in Montana - learn something new every day. I sure don't know anything about that area sorry. There are supposed to be fossils up that way. Maybe check the Rockhounding Montana book.

Do you have a "rockhounding Montana" book? I do have one at home but right now I'm still in AZ so don't have it handy. You might check with some of the other Montana people on here. Sorry.
