Hello forum! Long time lurker, first time tumbler. ..Engaged, no kids, living in So Cal just a couple of exits from Disneyland. I have a marine aquarium full of seahorses, I love jigsaw puzzles, and I have a large collection of gem and minerals; commons and rares mostly consisting of tumbles, spheres and pyramids. I am a relationship counselor and crystal healing therapist by trade. I have been reading over the forum on and off for months while I waited for my tumbler. I thought it was going to get here in November for my 7th anniversary but nope. Christmas maybe? Newp! I got it on my 34th birthday at the end of January, so when I say long time lurker, I mean I've been peering at you all for quite some time now! I got a Lortone 33B and started my first batch on February 11th. I just switched from phase 1 to phase 2 just this morning, Feb. 23rd. I have started with Amethyst and Turritella agate, both mohs 7. I have a ton of progress photos that I will be posting in a different section of the forum shortly. I definitely have some questions and I am totally open to feedback based on what you see of the photographs. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing information about our experiences!

Thanks Toad, I've posted a few photos of my first project in progress here: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=trtphoto&thread=36250Mostly I am curious to know what the difference is between the available polishes and which would be used for what stones, etc. I couldn't find a recent topic that mentioned it, so if anyone can point me in that direction it would be very helpful. TY!

Great intro! Looking forward to pics, many pics!! This hobby for me also started out with a rock tumbler and a load of rough. In four years it has grown to "equipment" and a couple thousand pounds of rough. lol (just letting you know what you're getting in to) And just when you thought you've seen every kind of rock there is, someone will post a pic of something else that you've never seen, and a day later you'll be ordering 20 pounds of it. Good luck! ;D
