Daniel, that's awesome! I've only just begun trying to use the little bit I learned in my one-day class, and I've a question for you: How do you mount the cab onto the backing? Do you make a bezel and then solder it to the face of the back plate, or do you simply glue the cab to the back plate? I'm really struggling with the bezel-making process. Tom I never like the look of bezels so I am planning to just glue the stone. I made the silver finding spoon shaped so ut cups the stone and it is not just a cab sticking up off of flat silver. Still, I have to see how the final result looks. Getting the back dome of the cab to be a good fit to the spoon-curve of the finding is tricky. I have also considered drilling a hole in the stone and putting a silver rivet or tube-rivet near the top of the cab. Maybe make it tight, or maybe leave a little room to jiggle. Won't try this until the next one though. I have also see a friend do bezels with silver mesh, and I like those better, so I may try to make some sort of mesh bezel/nest for the stone - but that would be on a 3rd one. Also I can't find a source for mese as fine as I want. Rio Grande has 11 threads/CM, but I want about 2x finer. I bought enough silver to make about 3 of these before I have to buy more. Just have to tweak things until I find the sweet spot.

It looks excellent! Your silver work looks like that's what you've done since ages.
