Does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy 8" blades w/a 1" arbor? I find that 75$ for the blades is kinda pricey. I went through a blade trimming up about 90 lbs of slabs this week. or should I buy some 6" blades for my lotone unit? I've only used that w/.006 blades to cut opals with so don't know how long thicker blades would work on regular slabs.

Dr Joe, no secrets. I don't sell on the forum or try to advertise for free. I picked up a few of the 303C blades at Tucson punched to fit the Genie and offered Dave a deal. Seems like I just advertised but now you are to blame.

If I understand, "punched to fit the Genie" means 1" arbor?
My sister's kinds use a cheap HarborFreight 7" tile saw with 1" arbor, and I can't findy anly alternative to the HF blades with 1" arbor.
Does anyone know where I can get good 7" blades with 1" arbor"

Yes "punched to 1". Barranca will do it but charge $15 per blade now. I had a guy tell me this weekend he used a step drill to drill a 1/2" blade to 5/8". You might try that on one blade and see if it would work. Has to be centered as I'm sure you know. Most of the cheapie tile saws have 7/8" arbor I thought. I know the cheap tile blade I bought at Home Depot was 7/8" bushed to 5/8".

I would imagine if you know someone that works in a machine shop, they could "punch" the blade out for you. Then you could use any blade you want.

I was just kidding and I hope no one thinks we collaborated off-line to commit this discretion ;D ;D. Besides, if a part can't be located easily and someone can provide it or a work-around, I consider that a service and not an advertisement ( American flag waving in the background as Star Spangled Banner increases in volume) ;D ;D ;D Seriously, you do help so many on here, I wish I could do the same. Sorry for the derailment dbrealityrocks Dr Joe .
