And I totally believe you. I changed bedrooms recently and now can barely hear mine. I think I need to set on up in the room just so I can listen to it. Maybe my little 1.5 polish barrel ... but then do I really want to climb two flights of stairs several times to change the barrel, set it up washing, rinse it again the next day ......... Hmmmmmmmmmm the idea of taping it is sounding better all the time.

Nothing like the sound of the tumblers humming along! My hubby was concerned, when I first started this crazy rock tumbling hobby, that the noise would disrupt our sleep. Now he's just like me - power goes off, he wakes up immediately "Why did the tumblers stop"? VERY relaxing, therapeutic sound! An added benefit to tumbling!

When there are rolling I don't hear a thing, its when they are not rolling that I hear all that nasty noise.

Well I tried, was going to post some rock tumbler .wav or mp3 files here but couldn't get anything in Google.
Cher, go a mic? You could record it too your computer and create, "Cher's Soothing Sounds for Rockhounds" CD!
Oh we are all nuts.

Did any of you catch the special last night on I think it was the travel channel... they went to this one place somewhere in Pennsylvania with a mysteriouspile of "singing" rocks. People hike in and just start tapping on these rocks with hammers, lol. Tape some of that, add tumbler percussion in the background and you could have yourself some real rock music! lmao.
