I hate standing in lines. It's such a waste of time.
But last night I stood in line for over an hour and didn't mind at all. In fact I enjoyed every moment of it. I stood in line to vote in the Texas Primaries. If Obama and crew hasn't done anything else, they have certainly awkened the masses. It was the largest Primary turnout in a long time.
I hope in November I have to stand in line for two hours.

I don't usually comment on political things but 25 years ago I saw a bumpersticker on the door of a political science prof. door at UNH and still think it fits IF VOTING MADE A DIFFERENCE IT WOULD BE ILLEGAL as for theassault on the constitution thank Abe Lincoln!! The civil war was fought to expand federal powers!!!

And that is exactly what the politicians want you to think.
Ask Obama if the Mass. voters made a difference.

doesn't really matter, Bush took us from the black deeep into debt and Obama is just continuing the same road. The way to tell if a politician is lying is if his lips are moving. The only one I know of that makes any sense is Ron Paul. When you get down to it it's the privately owned federal reserve that'sdestroying the value of our money and they {the richest people in the world] are the ones calling the shots

Voting matters - just not as much as it should.

Where I voted the demicrap table looked like the maytag repairman table. Most everyone walked over to the repub table. probably 8 to 1.

Yep, strong Republican turnout here too though I must agree to a certain extent, with DBrocks in that it always seems it's a vote for the lesser of two evils or exchanging one set of overlords for another. It was refreshing, after my time in Commiefornia, to actually see someone I voted for since Reagan who actually won. Being a republican and California being a winner takes all state, my vote never even counted in most elections....Mel

Snuffy I stood in line for an hour and never saw a Dem come in. I know they did, but not while I was there.
Mel Well at least the RINO didn't get it. What we got wasn't a lot better, but at least he's not a Liberal..........or a Democrat. I still think Medina was the way to go.

Commiefornia? Commiefornia? I completely and UTTERLY ah, actually agree...
I have kids at school receiving free lunches because of the amount of money their parents say they make on the school forms, a number that is not validated by any means. Many of these same parents come in with 3-5 kids in a new SUV. Some of them need the help, but our office staff, who deal with the 'entitlement' idea some people have - that if you can grab it - get it - shake their heads.
On another note - I just read that they are considering here in the California a law that would make farmer's market vendors acquire swipe machines because food stamp recipients should be able to buy 'fresher' produce than what's in the stores. And the 'stamp' recipients would no longer be receiving the 'stigma' of stamps but be receiving little 'atm' cards to use instead. I believe (don't know the details for this) the cost of the machine would be absorbed by the vendor as well as the necessity of finding a power source and data connection. I understand the need some people have for stamps but adding a burden to the farmer or small seller is ludicrous.
The amount of welfare that goes out in California is atrocious.

Yup, make it as impossible as possible for people to have businesses. It's the Socialist way. That way people have to rely on the government to "help" them.

they have tried in colorado to get us to do the same at farmers mkts for food stamps but we have refused. we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. farmers don't make enough from their farms to be required to pay extra $ for just a very few sales
