I've got some time off, so it's time to stock up! I did so much wire wrapping that I ran out of cabs. Anyhow, I did these this afternoon after running errands with Cathy....... I like this one a lot, Moss agate with a fortification, rock from Sheri..... Gem calcite cut from 11 pound chunk from ebay seller "Astrogallery"....... Medicine Bow agate from local rock shop..... Mexican crazy lace agate from ebay....... Unknown agate, can't remember where it came from. lol..... Another unknown..... And another unknown..... Cool unknown stuff from local rock shop.... Unknown jasper from Jamie..... Utah picture jasper....... Willow Creek from local rock shop pile..... I'm gonna cut some more tomorrow, and maybe Friday. Then I'm gonna start wrapping them. Some will get donated to the Tidewater Gem and Mineral society for the annual auction to help raise funds for field trips, replacement wheels and blades for club's equipment, food for get-togethers.......

Another great batch. You got that willow creek from Jim's pile? That is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Great batch, that should keep you busy for wrapping for at least an hour ;D
My favorite is the last one, looks like Imperial jasper.

You'll be busy wrapping for a little while Randy! Those are all fantastic but that Mexican Crazy Laceis just the coolest! I haven't quite seen one that looks like that ever and you framed it perfectly. Steve

great looking cabs, looking forward to seeing them wrapped. it would be nice to have a lapidary club near here but the nearest club is 150 miles away. on a more positive note the nearest walmart is 120 miles away

as a matter of fact yes, I plan 1 day every 2 months to get to the big city [miles city, mt], it's the pits though to lose a day that could be spent cutting

Wow, sounds like you live in a place that I'd like to live, without too many neighbors. fisherman- Yep, he told me about that one. His brother "Art" runs the one here while he's out there. Jim's really cool, his brother is cool too but can seem a bit abrasive if you don't know him too well. Jim said that he's been thinking about selling the shop in Berkeley.

Great cabs. They're all very nice. I can't wait til spring. My wheels are outside, and it's too cold now.

I love your newest cabs! The shapes are great and the rocks you picked are gorgeous specimens - the unknown agates and the willow creek are my faves!

Thanks! The unknowns always seem to be the coolest, and I have "boxes" of unknowns. lol ... Most of my unknowns come from the big pile at the local rock shop (20+ tons), all "old stock". I've even found some biggs jasper and Medicine Bow agate there. The Medicine Bow is getting really hard to come by anymore it seems, and yet I found a chunk that must have weighed around 6 pounds or more. The Willow Creek is just one more example of what's in that pile.

Randy, nice cabs, bet they will not take you long to wrap, you are waaaaayyyy faster at that then I am. Maybe even without tape dbrealityrocks, Miles City, wow, that's agate country. Don't know as I'd live there, colder than Helena and western Montana usually (although with "global warming" it may be different). I dream of getting out of the "big city" of Helena so sounds like you live close to heaven to me...lol, well aside from the wind, cold, open plains, and sagebrush...lol. Diane
