I had gotten distracted by all of the shiney things (pendants, glass blown beads and Swarovski javascript:add(' ') at the local craft store and haven't been making my own pendants! Here are a couple I've recently (weeeell, since the last time I posted on here...)completed and I have about 20 more just waiting to be wrapped! This past weekend was a blast and the laundry basket is FILLED with muddy clothes from cutting so many slabs up! Pink Lady - (rock from the Skeena River) I don't know what the pink is, but it sure is pretty. I wish I had found more than this one pebble! Between the Lines - (from Haida Gwaii) I think it's a jasper, around 7.5 . Flutterby - This is a beach rock from the Skeena River. No idea what it is, but it is hard, around 8MOH. I guess I'm safe in calling it a chalcedony... I'm trying to figure out if I should keep it as it is, remove the butterfly and "nesty" weaving or completely re-do it. What do you think? Copper Galaxy - andesite from the Skeena River, wrapped in copper Hearty - I was told the stone was a tuff by the geologist who found it - in the exact shape you see (well, I added the hole! :-). Lava Eddy - Regular old basalt river rock, dressed up with a Swarovski crystal and sterling silver wire. NOW, it's on to last weekend's beauties. I'm really excited about this batch because it has some new rocks (new to me) like Christmas Tree Jasper and Geyserite and some blue BC Jade.

Thanks moondragon! I am in love with that rock and am really struggling with selling it. I want it for myself. If I kept every rock about which I feel that way, I'd never sell anything! LOL AND I'd need a walk-in jewelry CLOSET. :-)

You have some truly creative pieces there. The copper one is especially interesting to me--it reminds me of a little "wire sling."

You know, I think I like that first one best! I think that is a marble conglomerate. It is really hard to tell what it is exactly. Fran

Nice work, very interesting designs. Since you asked: If it was me I would remove the "nesty" weaving from the "flutterby" one so more of the colors of the stone would be shown, but that's just my opinion. It looks like granite rather than chalcedony but heck I have been known to be wrong so don't quote me...lol.

Gorgeous wraps! I guess rocks don't need to be shiny to be attractive! Your work is very inspiring!

Nice variety. We liked the second wrap and green stone. The first one is nice and all but green is great. Also like the andesite in the cage, interesting. Debby & Tom

Diane, I think you are right. That's what has been bugging me about it too the weaving part. It's a neat rock, if you felt it you'd know it's a chalcedony. It has this smoothness that is beautiful. The first one kind of confuses me though too. Gotta love river rocks! We have some granitidorites here, one river ONLY has granitic rocks. We don't have any true granite. I'm guessing the matrix is an andesite. We have a lot of feldspar porphyries here. It looks to me like the pink grew inside the stone, but then I get to thinking it may be a conglomerate. I just love, love, love the pink of it though! Thank you everyone. I really enjoy doing different things all the time. I'm like a little kid, I get bored easily, even when I have a gadzillion things to do!

Sounds like you know a lot about rocks so that explains your wanting to do lots of different things with lots of different rocks. Keep on creating, you are good at it. Diane

I think they are very original, very creative and very nice! I like the flutterby, but I like busier and ornate stuff, I really like how you combined different elements into the stones! Keep going it is a treat to see!!! Amber
