Anyone here ever fix a broken opal. I have been asked if I can repair a stone for someone. It is not a good grade opal. In fact, it looks to me like it might be what is called common opal. It is white, has no color to it other than a reddish tint when light shines through it. The stone is broken into two pieces. Would hot stuff, the yellow, work? Or maybe Opticon, or even 330 epoxy?
Thank you for any tips and ideas!

I'd go with Opticon and a clamp, wipe off any excess and re-polish when cured.

You have to heat Opticon so it won't work because the opal will not stand heat. I'd go with gel super glue, myself. (I'd throw it away and replace it with a better piece, personally). You can pick up a small bottle of common pieces with a little fire at most rock shows for $20. Ken

I've used it with low heat with good results.
Next would be Epoxy 330.
