I have been looking for 3 days online for plans on how to build or convert a bench grinder into a rock polisher, but i have been met with 404 errors or sry this page dosent exist. Can someone please direct me to a website with detailed plans on how to do this. Thank you

I think there are some threads on here showing step by step progress. Also, there are some members on here who have built their own. I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction.

A conventional bench grinder is not set up for wet duty, so it's not advisable to use one for grinding or sanding rock. Better to watch craigs list foe arbor units.

Lee is right, bench grinders are not designed for wet use.
However, you could pull off the SiC wheels, mount a pulley, and then use it to drive an arbor. I'm not sure if it would have enough horsepower for anything bigger than 4" wheels, though.
If you're dead set on using the bench grinder more or less as is, you would need to put a water shield around the wheels and water slingers (essentially washers) on the shaft between the water shield and the motor.
I would still wonder about the horsepower, though, as grinding a steel edge is easier than grinding a rock face because of the reduced surface area.

Hi Why not mount the motor on a frame above a cabbing shaft and a 1 to 2 reduction (say 2" motor Pulley onto shaft 4") would bring your 3450 grinder down to1750
Im going to use a grinder in a simular situation to power a rock saw.

Just remember the belt guard!
As much fun as it may seem to get slapped in the face by a broken V-belt at speed, I think I'll pass. ;D

Thanks for digging up that link Dr. Joe.
Getting slapped by a V-Belt is a concern of mine even with my Highland Park grinder. I took off the guard recently so that I can easily change speeds. I guess I should put it back on.
It reminds me of a high school teacher I had who got slapped between the eyes by a broken chain saw chain. He's lucky it hit where it did, otherwise he would have lost an eye. All he got were some nice scars to talk about.
