I did this one last Thursday. It's pearl shot over base white with 8 coats of clear, sanded, white flames, then 5 more coats of clear. The pics don't really show the shine too well. The lady that owns the helmet didn't know that I was gonna put flames on it. She loves it! I did her bike just before the winter, same pearl over white, now with matching helmet....... Here it is without the camera flash......... With the flash (this thing lights up in the sun!) ..... Here's the decal that I put in the back. It's under all 13 coats of clear!

Yeah, the bike has 15 coats. Her husband is gonna bring it over now that it's put back together. I haven't even seen it yet!! I'll take pics.

I wanna see that bike too! Great work on the helmet. Is there a trick to painting them? I've wanted to just touch mine up ocationally, but am afraid the paint will react with the shell.

Thanks! Nate- I'm not sure about touching them up. Helmets can be painted, but you should always shoot a coat of sealer first to keep the paint from reacting to the original surface.
