This is the smallest cab I have tried making yet. 12x10mm. Making it for a ring. If you have not tried a small one yet, I can tell you that it is a real challenge! Just one small slip, grind a fuzz too much, and it's trashed! Very little room for error. Still, it was fun to make, and, looks like I got lucky. looks like it came out pretty good. Just noticed I need to wipe it down a little more, but, anyway, here it is: Thanks; Mike

That's a very pretty little ..... um ..... tigereye? It'll make a beautiful ring, for sure!

Those little ones are tough to do esp. a soft stone like Tiger eye. Good job!

Is it tigereye or chrysoberyl? Nice job regardless.

You did a wonderful job on that one! Did you use tooth pics or a nail head to dop it on? I have been using nails for the small ones but I think I need to go to some heavy toothpicks for the really small ones.

Small ones like that sure are hard. You did a fine job. I like to use golf tees for the small ones. You can use either end depending on the size of the cab.

Ooops! Seems like I forgot a bit of info. I did indeed use a dopstick, a wood dowel, 1/8th inch diameter. And, it is tigers eye. Thank you all for your comments.

Sweet cab Mike, that's gorgeous tiger eye!
One thing I found doing the few small cabs I've done is it's very easy to smooth/prepolish the cab out manually with a piece of wet/dry sand paper laid on something soft (I used craft foam). It's much harder to remove too much material that way.

Lovely! Yes, I'm finally sorta dopping for the first time (actually doing the superglue trick) in order to pull off my first smallies. Inspiring -- thanks! Very nice.

very cool! I know what you mean about the small ones, they are really tough, especially calibrated sizes.
