Hey all!
In my attempts to kick start, I am thinking once again about slabs and cabs.
Right now, I do not have the number of cabs that would give me a full load in the UV-10.
So, I had a thought. I get those every now, then, and again. ;D
I am thinking of taking as many of the previously finished batches of formed pieces and others that I feel came out crappy and putting them through a full processing in the vibe.
My intent here is to get rid of the surface pits, chips, and polish pockets and finished them up to the pretty pieces they can be.
As always .... what do you think?

Howdy, I'm loving my UV-10 and it seems a fine machine for cab and slab processing. It should work well for what you've mentioned but it of course, will not solve the problem of deep pits or cracks that hold polish. Mine actually seems to cram polish into pits even more than the rotary does. It also will take a long time to smooth any larger chips as vibes really don't do much to alter stone shape. I'm very impressed you've accumulated enough cabs to fill a UV-10. Shoot, I have a tough time keeping mine filled with just plain tumbles. I do try not to run too many cabs or slabs at once and prefer a partial load with gobs of tiny filler stones. This prevents chipping and other damage to the cabs and slabs while assuring lots of surface contact for a good polish. I've also increased my polish time to 8-10 days as it seems to make a much nicer finish. Good luck on your humongous cab lot and don't forget to post those pics.....Mel

Yes, use them for filler!! Like Mel said, they may not turn out right this time around, but they might, and they'll definitely help your cabs along. You can re-tumble stuff from previous batches as many times as you'd like, I do it all the time. I even re-tumble the good stuff, it comes out even better the second time ;D Oh- and ditto on the polish time, I run mine for 8-10 days as well.
