I am doing a virtual cabbing contest for the Topeka club on Friday night. Below are the slabs/prizes folks will virtually cab. I can't give these away here, but we can vote on any entry consisting of 4 cabs (one from each slab) posted by Friday at 5pm. (I want to show them later at the meeting). Whoever wins the vote will get another slab from my stash. Down load the pic. Use you favorite graphics to cut out a cab set or just to outline a set on the pics. Either way. Submit your entry. Short time - must enter by 5pm Friday!! You can post here or PM me if you do not want others to see before the contest closes. I'll offer this slab as the prize: (about 3.5 x 5.5 )

What a challenging contest, great! The slabs are very pretty, I like the most the ones in the top of the pic. Is that one in the top left Prinstone? If so, it's so beautiful but so soft? What a pitty about that!
Thank you for the contest, Daniel! I'd also like to see the virtual cabs made by the members of the club.
The prize slab is also beautiful.

this looks like a fun contest . Thank You for hosting this contest, Daniel . this is a new type of contest for me . i hope that i did not misunderstand . well here goes my rendition of the cabs out of those really cool slabs . i would have done at least one flat sided with faceted edges , but , had no clue how to do that successfully . Thanks !! ----paul

Paul - You understood perfectly. I like the initiative of putting a finding! There is some scale issue with the uploaded image. Between the download, the particular graphics program, and the upload, who knows what happened to the resolution. Here is your entry set to the original scale. It is about 100 pixel = 1 inch on the ruler. I will put all entries on the same scale and include a ruler before voting.

OK, Here is Nancy's standardized entry. Hey Nancy, nice edge effects. What software do yo use? Are you using a single tool to emboss edged and give shadow effects?

Used several tools to try to get the "look". I use photoshop, but pretty much only produce slight 3D effect by feathering. Don't know about other tools. If you tell me which ones, I will read some tutorial online.
