Howdy folks, Decided to just show the highlights this time as this batch is mainly for the kiddies and lots if stuff I'd usually not do except that they like this material. thanks for looking...Mel Rockshed mixed Brazilian and Indian Amethyst. Washed out in the picture and much darker in person. I hate doing ammy cause its so delicate but the kids go apes**t over the purple color> Carnelian. The light stuff is from the Rockshed. Color is on the exterior and when you tumble it long enough to get halfway smooth you lose most the color. The nice deep red is Chinese Imperial carnelian which has good color but fractures into tumble material when you saw it. Half T-Eggs for the kiddies. Mix of Hauser Wash and Mexican Red hots: Drab crazy lace: Big hunks of Lavic Siding area material: North Cadys Moss. Picture really doesn't show the colors all that well: Flint Ridge Flint: And finally, my backyard junk from the hill and creek by my house:

All I can say is that the kiddies are not alone! I just love the amethyst but it can be a bugger to tumble! You did a great job Mel! Fran

Parfive: I haven't heat treated any but my buddy Harley has. I does improve color a bit sending it more into the red brown tones. The Indians around here must have heat treated it sometimes as I often find broken artifacts and spalls in some pretty bright pinks, reds etc....Mel
