Git 'er done! Great fun! I especially like the sounds of the cars driving by his mobile home.
I bet he's on the Mark III or IV by now, especially since his continuous air over motor is probably dead.

That was damn funny! If he had used baling wire and duct tape making it, it would have been pure redneck. ;D

I want to see the finished rocks. It would be more funny if he had really nice display pieces come out of that. Still a hoot even without finished rocks.

That was pretty good! It is good to know that rocks and your fat grandma are lighter when they are in water!

Looks like some of the equipment in the Blacksmith shop where I work part time. That Dude would fit right in down there.

Hey wait a minute. I learned something. That indoor/outdoor stair tread may be just the ticket for my 15 # Thumlers barrel thats running on steel rollers right now because it eats through what ever I try to pad the rollers with. That gorilla tape I put on the barrel runners will only last so long...

Haha what a riot. mrs rocklicker got a kick out of it too.
Rockdewd, the stair tread might wear down your shafts. Maybe think of using garbage disposal hose on the outside of your shafts. It comes in standard ID's and holds up to tumbler barrels really well. You'll have to modify your pulley scheme to keep the RPM's right however. Steve

Now that was funny but,,,,,,,,, about 100 years ago when I was getting into tumbling I made my first tumbler out of stainless steel. Not knowing a thing about tumbling I used sand and the rocks tumbled for the next 87 years until I finally bought a book on tumbling! lol
Ya gotta start somewhere! lol connrock

Steve, Here is my problem: Putting any type of hose on the middle section require disassembling or splitting the hose. On the shafts on either side I wind a couple layers of electrical tape. Only Lortone 12 # and 6# roll on those and it lasts a year or two. There used to be a rubber coating on the Thumlers barrel when I got it 2nd hand. That wore off. In the picture I was trying duct tape and that lasted about 10 days. I next tried Gorilla tape and that has lasted for a few months now. I'm thinking the stair tread tape might be just the ticket... Cut the edges at a 45* angle to overlap them with the trailing edge on top so the weight and movement of the drum forces the gap closed. Then keep us updated on how it's working. But you knew that already. Dr Joe .

That was really funny... the rocks were really getting tossed around in that jug.
I wonder if they took a polish?
