In about 1.5 months I'll be looking to buy about $100 worth of cerium oxide polish. Where is the cheapest stuff online that you use? I'm only familiar with a couple of them. My local-ish lapidary doesn't have very good prices on the cerium, and even considering shipping, one of the online places I know of comes out cheaper per lb. Not sure though if that place is the best online, so looking for some suggestions for places with good cerium oxide.
Thanks!

Have you tried the Rockshed. I find there prices fair.

When price shopping look at grades. There is Standard, Optical, and Super also called French. There is a price jump between grades.

For the purposes of tumbling, is there going to be a significant difference in results among grades or will they all be generally equal?

I would guess that better grades would give better results even in tumbling.

There was a forum member who was trading Optical grade Cerium Oxide for rocks. His forum name is oldgrouchy, you can contact him and see if he still has any left. I did a trade with him a few years ago and it is pretty good stuff. I still have some of it left. He sent me a whole flat rate box full, and said he had lots more.
Have a great day...........Tony

Arrowhead lapidary has it for $9.50/lb, and 5 pounds is $40.00. I get mine from there usually. Steve
