Greetings. I recently finished a very lengthy quartz/amethyst tumble. I often have trouble getting these stones as shiny as I'd like, so I ran a very long AO polish cycle (about 6 weeks). Here are the results: First, photos of the whole mixed batch: photo1: photo2: photo3: photo4: photo5: Here are the amethyst: photo6: photo7: Here is some quartz, collected at Ruggles Mine: photo8: I tossed in some aventurine: photo9: Some quartzite from my road: photo10: All in all, I'm pretty pleased. Thanks for looking!

Wow! Excellent results. Way beyond what I've been able to achieve on quartz. Guess, judging form the mirror polish, that extra time was really worth it....Mel
