I picked up this 3 lb hunk of Lazulite? Sodalite at an aquarium / fish store after going to the rock show in Green Bay. Didn't find anything at the show... Slab pix in the slab section shortly. Thanks! Nate Dry wet

Thanks Mike. I couldn't think of that name to save my butt... I'm leaning more towards sodalite....

Looks like Canadian sodalite, not the kind out of Brazil or Africa.

Thanks Bob. 2 votes for sodalite is good enough for me.

I'll guess spotted sodalite from Brazil. Our Canadisan sodalite (from Brancoft Ontario area - Princess Margaret Mine) is usually deep blue with some white veins. It was once worthy of Royal Jewels, at least for Princess Margaret. Check out The Rock Shed. It looks like what they sell as spotted.

Yep, that's speckled sodalite. A lot of the pet stores carry it here as well, it cabs nicely.
