well i finally managed to take pictures of some of my slices , that i cut last week . these are from my rockhounding hike with Jo (naturenut ) on Easter weekend . i sliced up a few sample peices , from each type of find . my saw blade is just about worn out , so i had to quit cutting . here are the pixs . i tried to group the slabs with the rock that it came from . Serpentine one of the few that i actually found Thanks for looking !! Jo told me what they were . so i have know the names . but unfortunately , putting the right name with the right rock is proven harder than i thought . LOL i'm sure that Jo will help me out , when she reads this post . Thanks Jo !!!

Cool stuff Paul. I think I saw some bronzite in there.

Hey Paul, glad to see you opened them up! The first pic is Serpentine, but I think I also see some Actinolite in the two with the darker green. The second is a Quartz. Third looks like some Bronzite slabs. Fourth is one of our local Jaspers. Fifth may be a Bronzite, can't tell if the metallic fibers are there. The last one is what we affectionately call Honeycomb Stone. It's the result of the original iron stone wearing away making holes and channels, which then later were filled in with minerals in some rocks giving us our local jasper. This is mostly normal stuff we find inside rocks around here, but sometimes you get some surprises. Glad your week slowed up and gave you a break so you could get some quality time with your saw! Jo
