any ideas...a bunch of scraps I think! now it's a pile of ground scraps... the puzzle coming together...still missing something... ahh....finished to this point. Now to begin polishing The scraps include such junk as Laguna's, Durango Lace, Black Jade, Obsidian, and Gem Silica/Malachite. I don't know what it is with Mom's and Flowers and Butterflies....It just seems like they go hand in hand! Hope Mom will like it. Steve

Your mom will love it. Thanks for the step by step pics. I am amazed how you put those scraps together to come up with something so beautiful.

WOW Steve: That is super cool, I guess you could mount it in like a little 5x7 shadow box or what are your plans for mounting? That is so cool, I love those butterflies, they make this mom smile too. Amber

If she doesn't like it send it my way. When my wife and I would travel to Moose Lake Mn. for Agate Days there was an older lady there who would make rock mosaic pictures on glass. If you didn't get there early and buy one you would be out of luck. She would sell out early. I believe she did quite well with them. Last year I told my wife if she liked one to get it right away, and she did. By the time that we made it around the vendors 1 time she had sold out again.

Very cool Steve but you have to tell us (and show us) what the end product will look like.

Great idea! Nice work too. I never have any "scraps", only smaller pieces that have yet to find a shape and use...lol...

I finally finished the Mothers Day gift.....only a day late. The finished project changed just a little due to some pieces being broken in the grinding process and the sun was an afterthought. I used a piece of styrofoam and wrapped the felt around it. I glued the pieces to the felt with superglue and it's such a tight fit between the glass and the back of the shadow box...I doubt anything will ever work it's way looose. I was a bit rushed on the project but wanted to get it done. I learned a few things so my next shadow box should be a little better. It was fun....and I will do more of these when the occasion arises. I am glad it's finsihed cuz now I can get back to cabbing some real cabs! BTW....HAPPY Be-Lated MOTHER'S DAY to all the Wonderful RTH MOM's! Steve
