Steve, I think you did a great job! I was thinking...Maybe on a next project, you Draw a pattern on plywood cut to the shape you want. Attach the cab pieces then paint certain areas of the pattern with an epoxy and sprinkle sand of different colors for the background. May take time to change the sand colors (while waiting for one colors glue to dry) but it may be very striking.

I love that idea Fran! I think your idea will give the piece more depth and dimension. I never thought of anything like that. The felt looks a bit cheap...maybe just thrown together...but improvements will be made on the next one. I have a great idea for a Fathers Day one...maybe I should get started. Sheeeesh....I give myself so much time don't I?!?!
