Tony yeah I really didn't even have to work him, I just said it, but then I realized I had no cash since I spent it all, fortunatly he was one of the owners of the mine so I could go into the gift shop and pay, LOL. Mudshark wanted lapis, so I was bargaining for him, and then I ended up picking that dark blue piece for $1, but I got a good sized chunk for $30, I get so ticked a tthe ones that sell crap and charge an arm and a leg, LOL. I think I can talk my Tony inot cutting my other Tony a piece, LOL

drjo I'm trying to show her who the man of the house is. Of course I don't live there and it is my house but I'm lord of that 3".
Diane, she knows I will cut anything she wants. Her trouble is getting me to not cut something that she wants to save as it is. I just don't understand the concept of keeping a rock without cutting it. lol

Congrats on the great buy. I've had my Genie since 95, and am still using the original wheels. Those diamond wheels last forever if you treat them right. Don

Don! Holy Moly, I turn out a lot of cabs, maybe 400-500 a year, I seemed to go thru Nova wheels every 6 months on my old machine, is there anything special you do to get such long life out of them? I also wonder if I maybe messed up my old machine by adding 2 more wheels, I am just shocked at how shiny they get after the 3,000 wheel, seems like there should be more to it

Well, I must admit that the first 2 wheels on my machine are about ready to be replaced. I just take it easy on the first 2 wheels. I use light pressure, and let the wheels do the work. Don't know how many miles of rock those wheels have gone through, but it's a bunch. I do a lot of my fine sanding on another arbor with expando drums and silicon carbide belts. For me at least, the belts seem to conform to the shape of the stone better than the diamond wheels. I finish them up on the last diamond wheel, and then to a leather spin on disk with 50,000 grit diamond. Don

Look how a fight broke out to cover up the fact that they won't be sending me the Genie, lol. Talk about changing the conversation It just seems to me with that little closet space and all, that the Genie wants to come to Ga. since I'm not so sure the lapis will make it. T

Just a little hint for any of you who use a Genie, or any other machine with plastic pans. If you've ever forgotten to clean your machine after using it, you've ended up with dried mineral deposit which is almost impossible to remove. Soak the pans over night in CLR, and rinse them the next day. That mineral deposit comes right off. I got this hint directly from Diamond Pacific. Don
