I am having trouble with focusing on the rocks you have posted. Probably my computer. Are these final tumble? Ed

Hi Riverrock,
Those are all pretty stones but when the pick is so big when you click on it, it makes them hard to see. That comes with time as you learn how to adjust the size a bit. Did you finish these and leave them in a simi rough state? They look shinny but not complete so I just wasn't sure. Could just be wet looking. I have tumbled in the past, all of the varieties above. The spotted sodalite (or is it blue quartz?) did great, the moss was a bit difficult because every time I would almost be done, a stone would break through at a mossy weak point. That material does better on the cabber for me. Even though the tigers eye is tough to do, I had good luck with that one and they were really pretty! Glad to see you posting here! Fran

I see what you mean about the photo. i will reduce next time. and yes they are finshed to me. These were just tumbled from the rough. I like the look with the pits and odd rough look. I not ready to cab yet. And yes that is spotted sodalite.

I'm with you on that riverrock. A lot of my favorite tumbles I've done were like that. They retained a bit of the original rough state with some imperfections but had a polished shine. For interesting stones it's nice to see the before + after in one stone, kind of a middle ground between rough and tumbled. Nice job on those, I've been liking the moss stuff lately.

Riverrock, thanks for trying and sharing the "partial tumble." I've found myself doing that lately, simply because something in the shape was so interesting that I didn't want to lose it to a totally smooth tumble. There's certainly an art to it, and there's also plenty of room for different tastes!
