great looking tumbles !!! my favs are the butterscotch moss and the RR track agates in next to last pix . and then there is the crazy lace .. and then .... i could go on for a while .. great job !! --paul

You (and several others) amaze me! I get bitten by insects, flat tires, dehydration, threatened by snakes--and what I come back with is nowhere as beautiful as what you find and improve upon!

Beautiful! I especially like the ones you found in the gravel pits. I would love to find a dendritic agate to tumble. Your batch turned out wonderfully.

Everything in your post was so beautiful! We tried a local gravel pit here last weekend and ended up frustrated enough to race over to the rocky beach to try and salvage what was left of the day. Needless to say some gravel pits are better than others...??

I think this pit has good variety due to being next to a river. Pet wood is common and pet palm is found from time to time. Mastodon molars and tusks have been found. Getting permission to pick through the gravel can be unpredictable because they are running a business and large trucks and loaders are running around. I'd talk to folks at local rock clubs. They may have geological information that would help pick pits per potential rock makeup. Good luck.
