Indonesian Orbicular Jasp/Agate on a penny auction at Western Oregon Lapidary source E-bay store. Dave has a unique piece of material listed that is a ringer for Ocean Jasper but instead of a jasper background the orbs are floating in Agate.
Maybe Mel or someone can I.D. it.
NO - ONE has bid on it yet !
The picture group is about 1/3 down on the first page of listings.

Yeah that material has been around for a couple of years and I've seen a few slabs. A little like Ocean Jasper in person but I've not seen any that was very impressive color wise. Tiny orbs mainly in browns, yellows and golds and sort of olive tones. I've yet to see any with the large multiringed colorful orbs of the old OJ but the Indonesian stuff does compare well with the lower grade of small orb OJ that has been hitting the market in recent months.....Mel

The colors are not as crazy as the higher grade O.J. but the orbs are surrounded with clear Agate, might make some cool looking doublets . The penny auctions have about one day left to go, some two days, I bid on several , noticed that the Indonesian piece has only one bidder. Somebody's going to get some nice pieces of rough really cheap !

I put a $12.00 bid on the Holmesite replacement rough . I threw that one up when it was listed. hope that wasn't one you had your eye on ! I will refrain from getting under your feet on the rest of the auctions, there are some NICE looking pieces of rough there !

No, not one I'm bidding on. I already won part of what I was bidding on, some for a penny. I can't go too high. Right now I have bids on some ending in about 5 hrs. If someone increases their bid I'll have to let them go.

Stephan, nice color, but it doesn't look particularly solid, is that common to OJ? edited to say I hadn't even noticed the date until you brought attention to it. LOL

It's sturdy, but has lots of druzy areas that can look amazing on cabs. I don't think I want to cut this slab, though.
