Mother's Day gift for my mummy. ;D Cabochon polished by Dennis.....Peridot in Manganese (mom's birthstone is Peridot). Chain mail done by myself. This material is amazing with lots of silvery sparkles. Backlit, I will let the photo speak for itself. Thanks for looking, Shannon

Great work, that chain mail looks like you need some very nimble fingers. Is it glued around the pendent?

Just looking at the chainmail makes my hands hurt! That is one outstanding piece of work you 2! I would also like to know how that cab is held in there.
Thanks, Nate

Thanks everyone! Mom loved it.....when I told her I needed her to take it off so that I could get a few photos, she thought I meant that I was keeping it for a few days. She refused, you should have seen the look on her face LOL. "No no no mom, just a quick couple of photos and you can have it back."
This particular weave creates a shallow channel in which the cab sits, no glue necessary. However, this was such a fine small chain (22 gauge) that I used a bit of water clear epoxy as a safeguard against the cab popping out.
Chain mail is VERY time consuming especially when working with fine jewelry sized jump rings (mainly 22 and 24 gauge...or even smaller) but I do enjoy it.
Thanks again for the comments,
Shannon

The thought of working those jump rings, raises my blood pressure, LOL. Simply stunning and I bet she loved it! Amber

That is great Shan! I'm so glad you still have good eyes, lol. I tried some mail on occasion but after a while everything just blurs over Do glue in the stone...just don't want any chance of knocking it out. I made myself an opal ring with a stone I dearly love, but when I wore it I kept knocking it on everything...I can't wear it now until I pull the stone out of the bezel and super glue it in, 'cause I'd hate to lose it. Or just not wear it unless I get dressed up .... so I'm staying out of trouble...like once every 5 years or so, lol. T
