Is that from Mexico? It doesn't look the same as the material I collected in Creede, CO.

Yes, from MX - this is sort of a distant cousin to the Creede material.

I bought some pieces and had plenty of problems with fracturing. I was lucky to get a freeform:

Yeah it is usually full of fractures unfortunately.

The colors are from ameythist and the agate is mostly white. In all the areas found it is from a compression seam and the amey filled in . In most of it (called Sowbelly-- it looks like a slab of dried bacon the miners carried to eat ) from Creed and the Last Chance Mine and has silver natural wire in it or dots of silver. The Vein was 1500 ft wide and about 7 miles long. It supported many a miner and still does, Because of the fill composition it is difficult to get a solid cab. If ya realy want to see it well transmit light through it. all mine ended up as tumble mix, not one cab.
