Howdy folks, Some of you that may duck hunt South Texas may have seen this duck before. We have a few nesting here on the ranch so I thought I'd post a pic for any of you who are birders. This has been described as " the most unducklike of ducks", hence a libertarian duck. It doesn't quack like a duck, it whistles beautifully. It doesn't walk like a duck, it often flocks with turkeys and runs about on the ground on long legs. It often sits in the tops of tall trees. It is an awesome acrobatic flier.. It nests in holes like a woodpecker. It has massive broods that jump from the tree the second day after hatching. It often feeds at night . Anyway, these are Black Bellied Whistling Ducks, a Mexican species that is broadening it's range into Texas and a very odd and cool critter.....Mel

Those are cool, they challenge the belief that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be a duck. I like these better than the snakes you post ;-)

So, basically you're saying a libertarian is an odd duck? ;^)
