I completed a batch in a 3# barrel yesterday and took a few pictures before the sun snuffed out. My youngest grand-daughter requested a stone whale so I took a piece of milky Montana agate and tried to form a whale shape with my tile saw. I coarse tumbled with extra small rocks for 6 weeks to get the inside curve smoothed out and finished it as normal. It looks more like a tadpole now but I'd bet she'll like it. Some of that agate I picked up at the tracks, piece of Montana in the first pic: I bought some Montana on Ebay that was mostly sawn pieces and end cuts but there were a few pieces I liked: Some crazy lace from a large piece I bought at a mineral show: Two sides of a small slab of OJ I bought: Flint from the gravel pit near here: Two sides of Succor Creek Jasper, looking bluer than real life due to lighting, shark tooth shape: That's it, everything else was grit carrier. Thanks fer lookin'

What a beautiful batch--each one interesting in its own right. And the whale is lovely.

Love the tadpole! (I swear I saw that on a bumper sticker once...)
Now you gotta make a couple frogs to go with it!

Wow, that is a Whale of a batch! That gives me some ideas. How about making a tail then gluing it on the end? The Succor creek is a beauty too. Karock
