I have wanted to use a groove cut to float a cab in a silver frame. I could not quite get the cab and frame materials/look right, and this is the closest I have come. I actually cut these instead of just virtual mockup. But, I am not sure it works. It will look better with the stone lowered 1/4 inch onto the bottom of the silver, and polished (right now is only 220) but ... patterns may clash I could antique the frame ... I can still make something with this pendant and try to find something else for the frame. Once I cut the groove I am committed. Possibly a thick wire or two coming up out of the drusy area and soldered onto the top of the frame. I could use opinions/ideas.

I like them both separately. I say use the frame for something else.

too much going on in both to be used together for my taste
I think some less patterned stone or perhaps a solid colored would be better suited for that sterling

I think I would like it with the stone flipped and dangling in the middle like with a rivet cold connection? I think a patina would help compliment the stone, tough choice but I like each element on its own too. Amber

I like Amber's idea actually.........the stone turned upside down with the druzy on the bottom, dangling with a gap below the cab. I think antiquing the frame would be good as well. Right now it is so bright that you see the frame before the cab. Antiqued darker......it would still compliment the cab but not be so overpowering.

Flipping it never occured to me. My originalplan was to have a post going down intothe druze, and top stayed top.
let me play with some designs for dangling the stone. I am not sure the firmbess of a rivet is quite right, but I might drill a hole in both and rig a swing with a jump ring.
Thanks guys.

I like them both together. My only thought is that the stone is a bit to wide for the silver. I like the pattern on the silver as it reflects the the busy in the drusy and the pattern of the stone.

You know, Amber is right. you flip that stone, it allows the tapered end of the stone to dangle in the tapered end of the silver work. I think they will look fantastic together! Fran
