These are for Dennis and I to wear. Its ok to wear matching pendants and RTH shirts but I draw the line at matching satin square dance jackets. LOL ;D Lookout Point petrified wood from Lookout Point Reservoir/Lake, Oregon. Wrapped in bright aluminum (very lightweight) chain mail. Cabs by Den, chain mail woven by myself. Only difference between the two other than size is that mine has a twisted and hammered bail and his is just hammered without the twist. Backlit.....we just love the lightning bolts. Thanks for lookin, Shan

It's amazing how the twisted wire bail gives it a feminine look next to the plain. Wow, they match so perfectly and are so well done! Jo

Those are beautiful. I like the lightning bolts too. What a matched set and not a satin square dance jacket in sight ;-)

That's real nice...what incredible cabs!
How did you attach the bail? Did you solder it to a backing or just solder one connection?

What a beautiful matching set. Those cabs are very rustic looking, & the backlit bolts are tops!

Hey Charlie,
No solder......no nothing. Chain mail is done like that. Aspect ratio is EXTREMELY important when working chain mail. If the wire gauge is too small, and the rings made too large, the rings/weave fails because it just cant support itself. But when the aspect ratio is correct, no solder is needed. The rings ends meet, thats all. Not to say that brute force wouldnt open them but they stay just fine with normal wear.

Those look really good. What weave is that? Can you show the back also? I started doing chain mail recently and would like to try some wraps with it.

You mastered that chainmail wrapping, I like how narrow is the border, leaving the stone visible. Beautiful pet woods too, and fantastic match of pattern on the two pieces.

Those are great! I've not seen anything like them before, and I think they are perfect for "his" and "hers." Great idea, great execution.
