I finally got my wire and I just had to wrap a few of those cabs Tony sent me. Here they are: Labradorite in sterling silver wire Mariposite in sterling silver wire And here are a couple more I wrapped a while ago but didn't have a chance to get good pictures of them until now. Blue marble in argentium silver wire Unknown stone in copper wire - this was my first try at wire weaving with a wrap, it's rough but I figured I'd give it a try. The cab wasn't very colorful and seemed plain so I figured what the heck maybe I should try something different. What do you think, does it look ok? Thanks for looking.

Hey Diane, love that marble! Well... the last one looks cool, but maybe clip or reposition the swirls on the top left. If you can, I would pull them clockwise to about 1-2 o'clock. (just to the right of the bail) Jo

Love the marble, I really like the copper one, just not crazy about copper to wear, but the style is really awesome, I like the first lab too!

Thank you all. The marble is my favorite too. I love that color and the silver just set it off. Marie, I'm not into glass but it is cool and I have yet to find gemstones that size and shape, good thing huh, otherwise you'd be way ahead of me Amber, I'm not crazy about the copper to wear either but I have lots of copper wire to use and it is cheaper than silver. Someone mentioned I should use brass but I don't want to buy more wire right now. Some cabs do look better with copper though. Do you recognize that labradorite? WTG Tony :-) Jo, not sure I follow you but I'm thinking you mean to move all the swirls over to the righthand side (clockwise) except for the woven part, is that what you are talking about? That could work, may have to try it. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.

Ya know Diane with the price of silver and gold being so high, brass and copper are getting very popular, there is a huge selection of findings and accessories readily available, and I think copper can be tasteful.
Pretty soon we will be wrapping with dental floss if the commodity market doesn't settle! LOL

I have no idea how you kept that marble in hand long enough to wrap it. Marbles are slippery little buggars.
I haven't tried a weave yet. Great job on your first try.

I hear ya Amber, although floss ain't cheap anymore either. lol I thought about brass although I've already got some more silver so have to use that until I get some more money. I think copper looks better than silver or gold with some stones.
Lori, I don't know how I do it either...lol. Those marbles are definitely slippery stinkers.

Those are all beautiful! I like the marble the best and the weave second. I haven't tried either one of those yet. Great job on both. I love the little beads in the weave. I have used brass wire. It is cheap and easy to work with just like copper. It is hard to find half round though. It took me a while to find it. You can get it here: beadstore.wigjig.com/Brass_Half_Round.html I also like copper with some stones better than silver. Depends on the color of the stone. I like your new avatar also.

Thank you Amy for the link, I'll have to check it out when I get some more money to buy wire. I'm glad you like the new avatar. I have a hard time changing those so don't do it very often.
It's funny lots of people like those marbles but I thought they were just something goofy to do with wire for practice. Maybe I need to rethink that. Thanks Debby and Tom.
